Half-Life: Source
HL: Source |
Game description
Half-Life: Source follows the same core story as the original Half-Life, reimagined using the Source engine’s updated physics and rendering. You play as Gordon Freeman, a theoretical physicist working at the Black Mesa Research Facility, where a routine experiment goes catastrophically wrong. During a test involving an anomalous crystal sample, a resonance cascade occurs, tearing open portals to an alien dimension. Hostile creatures begin flooding into the facility, causing widespread chaos and destruction. As the disaster unfolds, the military is sent in to contain the situation, but they are ordered to eliminate both the aliens and any surviving scientists. Gordon is forced to navigate the collapsing complex, fighting through alien species and heavily armed soldiers alike. Along the way, he uncovers the full scale of the catastrophe and the facility’s hidden experiments. The story builds toward his desperate attempt to escape Black Mesa, all while being subtly observed and manipulated by the mysterious G-Man.
